Tamasine is a cellist, composer and acoustician. She trained in recorder, cello and piano at the London Centre for Young Musicians and played in the London Schools Symphony Orchestra, performing in concerts at the Barbican, London, and touring in France and Japan.

Tamasine studied music at the University of Birmingham and achieved a Masters degree in Composition. During her studies, she developed an interest in soundscapes and recording environmental sounds, ethnomusicology and learning to play the African djembe and mbira. Her piece Confluence for Solo Marimba was premièred at Eastman School of Music, New York.

Tamasine initially worked as a music editor in publishing. During that time, she undertook a short course in film music at Goldsmiths College and taught the cello.

In 2015, she completed an MSc in Acoustics, combining her passion for music and science. Now she is based in Bristol, practising as an acoustic consultant and advising on building design and environmental acoustics.

She is an active performer, as part of the Collaborative Orchestra, she reached the semi-finals of 2016 Britain's Got Talent and plays with the Insight Ensemble, performing in immersive concerts in the tunnels of Bristol Temple Meads Station.

Tamasine continues to build on her composition portfolio. She uses her knowledge of acoustics in her musical work and takes inspiration from the natural environment and different music traditions in her compositions.
